September 2007 - The success behind Richard Henry Construction, Inc. rests in the hands of a dedicated team of workers focusing on quality craftsmanship and customer service. After high school graduation, Richard Sutliff began working for a builder picking up scraps; quickly moving up the ranks to carpenter, then supervisor. After just six years, Rick decided it was time he start his own construction company.

Rick first specialized in remodeling existing homes. By 1994, as a result of reputable craftsmanship, the company was ranked as one of the top 500 remodeler's in the country by a prominent trade publication. With the combination of talent, timing and tenacity, the company expanded into the niche residential market of luxury vacation homes.

"We construct about 10 to 15 vacation homes a year," says Rick. Currently the firm maintains a full-time staff of 12, including an in-house drafting department, and keeps 30 to 50 construction workers busy on various jobs throughout the year. He is quick to mention that he owes his success and steady growth to the loyal employees and contractors who genuinely care about the end product.

More out of respect than necessity, the company maintains a steady stream of remodeling projects. "It's what brought us to the dance," explains Rick.

"The Poconos is a tremendous place to do business and the commercial opportunities abound. We see ourselves more and more entrenched in commercial construction," says Rick. To date the business has constructed several professional and medical office facilities.

Despite the steady and successful growth, Rick modestly measures his accomplishments by the smile on his client's face and by being able to make a dream come true.
